Are you also one of the aspiring journalism or just any person who wish to know how to help in your community using the access of social media? Well, I have a video to share which I think is valuable and worth watching for anyone. This is entitled Citizen journalism|Paul Lewis| tedXtalk. you can check out the video on Youtube. Well after watching the video I have taken 3 points in it:

1. Utilized Social Medial
According to the speaker which is Mr. Paul Lewis You can’t know everything that is why you need to use technology, social media as your eyes and ears which I think is very true. With all the technological advancement we have, things are already easy to access which makes information be passed quickly around the world. Social media is not purely for entertainment but as well as a form of platform to change and inform the whole society. These things are invented and provided for us intentionally for a finer community but it is still for us how we are going to use them. Let us be responsible users of these things because they can be a powerful and influential tool for anyone.

2. Verification is very essential
Anyone’s life may be in danger or things may go wrong when one wrong thing was shared and spread so for that reason Paul Lewis said “make sure that our facts are correct”.This is why there is a saying that justice is served when the truth has prevailed. Even the bible says “You shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free”(John 8:32). As journalism facts are very important because it is our obligation to be honest all the time we inform for there are many eyes and ears are on us.

3. Be a Journalist
Within the video, it was shared how social media become essential in solving and prevailing the truth but this would not have been successful if those citizens who helped have not taken their part and for that reason, we must truly follow what Paul Lewis said. If we feel that something is wrong or inappropriate we witness it, record it and share the information or the actual situation because that is already journalism. So let us be a journalist.
